About this event
We hear it all the time: the opening paragraphs and pages of your work must hook your reader. Easier said than done! In this class we’ll examine and discuss effective openings of published fiction and memoir, share tips about what makes an opening pop, and cast a close eye on our own opening pages-in-progress. Suitable for all levels of writing experience. If you would like to share for group discussion, please bring 6 or so copies of either the first 2 pages of a short story/essay you’ve working on OR the first 4 pages of a novel/memoir-in-progress.
